Mini golf is a charming idea to bring some excitement to your next date night, family outing, team building, or weekend afternoon. It’s a low-stakes, high-reward activity that can unite everyone thanks to its spirit of friendly competition. Whether you have a group of spirited friends that want to lead a cutthroat game, or you’re seeking a special activity to enjoy with your kids, we love these mini golf courses in San Franciso for their ability to cater to any group of players.
1. Stagecoach Greens

Stagecoach Greens is the only outdoor mini golf course in San Francisco, and it presents one of the most enjoyable all-around experiences in the city. The course is an ode to local history, with models of the Barbary Coast Saloon, a mysterious Gold Rush graveyard, and even an Ocean Beach bonfire. Not only that, but all of Stagecoach’s ticket sales go to support local foster youth; in fact, families staying at the neighboring Family House always play for free.
The course’s location at Parklab Gardens and SPARK Social SF, two neighboring food truck parks, make for a wonderful environment to play a little putt-putt and then stick around well into the evening. With endless options for food and drinks, plus rentable tipis and fireplaces, Stagecoach is a popular option for birthday parties and events.
🎟️ Price: $19 for adults, $13 for kids 12 and under

2. Holey Moley

*Opens July 19, 2024*
After the closure of Urban Putt in December 2023, Mission District mini golfers found themselves with a golf ball-sized lump in their throats at the notion of traveling to the waterfront for some putt-putt. Luckily for us, mini golf chain Holey Moley USA, from the Australian company Funlab, is about to open a highly-anticipated new course at the same location.
The course itself is designed as an immersive labyrinth, with funky ’80s- and ’90s-themed obstacles resembling a playful recreation of the moon landing, a retro video game set, a large-scale candy shop, and more. Holey Moley also promises craft cocktails available at two bars, dangerously indulgent comfort food, and even karaoke.
🎟️ Price: $14 for 9 holes throughout the week, $20 for 18 holes Monday-Thursday, and $26 for 18 holes Friday-Sunday

Sure, this mini golf course isn’t technically in San Francisco, but its location just across the Bay Bridge makes for an easy trip, even on public transportation (the F bus line takes you almost to the door). The popular destination is designed especially for adults, maintaining a lively sports bar environment with craft beers, delicious Mexican food, and additional entertainment like cornhole and trivia. You can make the most of your East Bay day trip with a dinner reservation in Berkeley or a picnic at Oakland’s Lake Merritt.
