Jerry Day is back this year at the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater in McLaren Park. The beloved free musical event will kick off at 11:30 am (doors open at 11 a.m.) on August 2, 2025, in celebration of Jerry Garcia’s 83rd birthday. Performers include Melvin Seals and JGB, Stu Allen and Mars Hotel, and more special guests. This year’s celebration is especially exciting because it aligns with The Grateful Dead’s 60th anniversary. To celebrate, Dead & Company is playing three shows this weekend in Golden Gate Park on Friday through Sunday. Jerry Day will host free live streams of Dead & Company during their event for people who weren’t able to score tickets to the anniversary show.
In addition to the big day, there are a handful of other FREE events to get the party started (and keep it going). Here’s what’s going on:
- Aug. 1: Jerry Day Pre & Dead & Co After Party
- Pete Sawyer and Left Hand Monkey Wrench Gang @ Brick and Mortar – 1710 Mission St – 10:30 pm
- Aug. 2: Jerry Day at Jerry Garcia Amphitheater
- Aug. 2: following Jerry Day: “Jerry Nite” post-parties
- Josh Gelfand @ The Halfway Club – 1166 Geneva Ave – 3 pm (FREE)
- Pete Sawyer & LHWMG @ Recovery Room 4528 Mission St / Jerry Garcia Street – 9:30 pm (FREE)

- TBD @ Talas Wine Lounge – Mission St – 6 pm (FREE)

Jerry Day is, of course, a celebration of Jerry Garcia, a San Francisco legend and lead guitarist/vocalist of the Grateful Dead. Garcia was born and raised in San Francisco’s Excelsior District and is a major source of pride for many locals who call the neighborhood home. Since 2002, Jerry Day has worked to unite the diverse and low-income neighborhoods around McLaren Park to provide them with resources and a sense of community through art and music.

Doors open at 11 am, and music starts at 11:30 am for the Jerry Day concerts at Jerry Garcia Amphitheater in San Francisco’s McLaren Park. The shows are free and open to the public, and will run to 5:45 pm. Check out Jerry Day’s website to learn more about the wonderful annual event.
