After a summer packed with concerts and music festivals, Golden Gate Park is hosting another major concert this fall. Singer-songwriter Khalid will perform, opening for pop musician Lauv. The show is scheduled for Saturday, October 11, starting at 3 pm in Robin Williams Meadow. The daytime concert will be in the heart of Golden Gate Park, in one of the scenic meadows. Tickets are already on sale for the show, and all ages are welcome.
Khalid quickly rose to fame after his 2016 single “Location” took off in 2017, followed by his hit song “Young Dumb & Broke, with both songs making it into the Billboard top 20. He’s been nominated for multiple Grammys, including “Best New Artist” and “Song of the Year.” Khalid released a new single, “In Plain Sight,” on August 15th, and will release his latest album After the Sun Goes Down, ” on October 10, just a day before his Golden Gate Park Performance. Lauv is best known for his hit song “I Like Me Better” and is currently touring around Asia. He has released two studio albums and a new single this July. Finally, indie-pop musician flowerovlove will join the lineup for the outdoor show.
Golden Gate Park frequently hosts major concerts, including recent shows from Dead & Company and Zach Bryan. Robin Williams Meadow is in the eastern portion of the park and is easily accessible from the Inner Sunset and Haight Ashbury neighborhoods.
The concert will be presented by local music venue The Midway and Plus Ultra. The Midway regularly hosts major artists, raves, and block parties with multiple performances. The venue will host many of the highly anticipated aftershows for Portola music festival this September, including Peggy Gou and Mau P, Prospa, and more.
