Micro Center, a massive store specializing in computer parts, has recently opened a Bay Area location, much to the anticipation of tech enthusiasts. The store is the United States’ leading retailer for computers and electronic devices, with 29 stores across multiple states.
The newest location opened in Santa Clara on Friday, May 30. The grand opening had people lining up to get a chance to shop the store’s vast selection. As part of their opening, the store is offering 20% off items running until June 15th. Micro Center Santa Clara has over 20,000 items in stock at the massive store, including laptops, gaming PCs, computer parts, and more. Micro Center first opened in 1978 as a single store, by former Radio Shack employees.
Since then, it’s grown to become a “tech heaven”, selling computer parts and other technology for decades. The store is popular because it offers a large selection and regularly offers deals. While the Bay Area is known for its influence on tech, this is the Santa Clara location that is the first Micro Center store in the Bay Area. The only other Micro Center in California is located in Tustin.
The Bay Area has had some exciting store openings recently, including a Nintendo store in Union Square that opened on Thursday, May 15. Additionally, retailer Zara has recently announced that it will open a new flagship store in San Francisco’s Union Square. The recent openings in the area are a welcome change, as past years have seen several major retailers closing stores in the Bay Area.
You can check out the new location at 5201 Stevens Creek Blvd in Santa Clara, and the grand opening deals last until June 15th. Micro Center is open from 10 am to 9 pm Monday through Saturday, and 11 am to 6 pm on Sunday.
