Excelsior is starting the weekend with a night market and community gathering space. The night market will feature local vendors and a gathering area in an unused lot, filled with plants and seating.
Excelsior Night Market and Town Square

This Friday, the Excelsior neighborhood is hosting a lively night market, complete with a special pop-up town square. The pop-up town square area will temporarily take over the Persia Triangle, which sits at the intersection of Mission, Ocean, and Persia, while the market will take over Ocean Avenue.
The temporary town square will take over the gated parking lot that community leaders have tried to reimagine into a community gathering space for years. The area will be filled with plants and seating areas to make a pleasant space for community members to relax.
The night market will run from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, October 23. You can expect an array of local vendors at the market, and it’s a great chance to explore the neighborhood. The night markets are held every month, with events scheduled on November 20 and December 11.
The pop-up town square will be hosted by Civic Joy Fund, an organization that is involved in a variety of events around the city, including other night markets in Noe Valley and the Halloween party at Sunset Dunes.
