On Friday, July 3, North Beach is kicking off the weekend with its popular monthly block party and art crawl. The event, North Beach First Fridays, transforms the neighborhood into a lively showcase of local artists, musicians, and vendors.

The festivities start around. 5 pm, ending around 10 pm, but many bars and restaurants in the neighborhood will stay open later. We recommend heading to the longstanding Caffe Trieste for live music starting at 5 pm and grabbing a drink at Paris 75 while enjoying live Italian jazz with The Mina Project. Otherwise Brewing will feature a performance from
Popular bars Vesuvio and Waystone will also feature art exhibitions and are perfect spots to grab a cocktail or glass of wine. The Fish Tank art gallery will also be selling a selection of paintings and screen prints. Plus, check out Sweeties Art Bar for their group show on Graphic Arts accompanied by live jazz from 6 to 9 pm.
For fans of poetry, check out poetry readings at Coit Tower and the cozy wine bar Golden Sardine. We also recommend visiting City Lights Books while you’re in the neighborhood and going upstairs to browse through their extensive poetry selection.
Finally, head to the iconic Club Fugazi to get an open house tour and see the talented acrobats rehearse for their popular show Dear San Francisco.
