Good news for ‘Barbie’ and Baseball fans: Oracle Park is hosting a special Barbie-themed event next weekend. The stadium will be diving into the ‘Barbie’ universe this October, hosting a ‘Barbie’ viewing on the big screen. Whether you’ve already experienced the blockbuster movie or haven’t had a chance to see it yet, the event is a unique way to spend time in the iconic ballpark.
The event takes place on October 27, and the doors open at 6:00 p.m., and the screening starts at 7:15 p.m. To fully embrace the evening of ‘Barbie,’ there will be a costume contest for the best Barbie costume and plenty of photo opportunities. Themed food and beverages will also be available for purchase.
The event offers San Franciscans the opportunity to watch the hit movie on the massive 4K scoreboard under the stars. Plus, you can fully get into the Halloween spirit by dressing up as your favorite ‘Barbie’ character. While SF has recently been enjoying a heat wave, we recommend bringing some layers to be comfortable during the nighttime show.
A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Barbie Dream Gap Project, a project “dedicated to closing the gap by challenging gender stereotypes and helping undo the biases that hold girls back from reaching their full potential,” according to the Mattel website.
Oracle Park hosts a variety of other events when it isn’t being used for baseball games. Other events include a pickleball tournament in the summer and the occasional concert– notably the Dead and Co concert this summer. You can also look forward to a nine-hole golf course at the park coming in November.
You can either sit on the field or in a lower box to watch the film, and all tickets are general admission. Tickets cost $24 plus fees, and you can purchase them online.
