When they say food “slaps.” 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
These red flag memes have taken the internet by storm lately, and for good reason. People are very passionate about their pet peeves, and San Franciscans are some of the most passionate people around! That’s why we asked our Instagram followers what really gets under their skin when people talk about San Francisco, enough to warrant a red flag… or 20.
As with any conversation about San Francisco slang, commenters vehemently defended the use of certain SF nicknames, just as ardently as those who are completely against them. As you can see, we’ve had some conflicting answers, but at least we can all agree that nobody should be enjoying Fisherman’s Wharf… right?
Well, anyways, here are some moments that may or may not raise a red flag in SF:
When they call the fog Karl.
When they refuse to call the fog Karl.
When they call it San Fran.
When they say people don’t call it San Fran.
When they call it Frisco.
When people don’t know that historically ethnic locals do call it Frisco.
When they call it Cali.
When they call it “San FranPsycho.”
When they call it “the” 101.
When they spell it “Hate” Ashbury.
When they love Fleet Week.
When they hate Fleet Week.
When they ask why the Bay Bridge isn’t red.
When they say they can’t find good eats.
When they’ve never taken the ferry to a Giants game.
When people belittle the homeless population.
When they say food “slaps.”
When they list Pier 39 as a must-see.
When they call tech CEOs by their first names.
When they say SF’s architecture is boring.
When they don’t ride Muni.
When they say they love Fisherman’s Wharf.
When they only talk about landmarks .
Do you agree with these San Franciscans? Or are they 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩?
