It’s officially Pride month, which means San Francisco is alive with numerous exciting events. One of the biggest events of the month is the massive, free two-day celebration in Civic Center Plaza and surrounding streets. The weekend-long event is packed with music, performances, and community. Keep reading for all the details.
San Francisco Pride Celebration at Civic Center
While many events are happening all month, they culminate in a major celebration on the last weekend of June. On June 27 and 28, San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza hosts a 2-day celebration, featuring six stages and a packed lineup of performers and activities.
This year’s headliners for the celebration are Aly & Aj and Kamaiyah, with performances from Stephan Jenkins, Raquel Willis, Cain Culto, and Christie James. San Franciscans can also expect Oakland to All featuring Fijiana and Princess featuring Dawn, among many other talented performers, during the 2-day celebration.
Along with the main stage, you can expect multiple other community stages, each with a different focus.
- Green Stage:
- Soul of Pride Stage that celebrates Black excellence and culture.
- Blue Stage:
- People’s March (Saturday) featuring local organizations
- Latin Stage (Sunday) with music produced by Club Pap
- Pink Stage
- Indigiqueer Two-Spirit Stage (Saturday) honors Two-Spirit traditions and the indigenous LGBTQ+ community
- Hip Hop Hooray Stage (Sunday)
- Indigo Stage:
- Root of Pride Stage that is an 18+ space
Along with the many stages, you can also explore several community spaces, such as the Sundance Saloon, Faery Freedom Village, and Leather Alley. The iconic Pride Parade will end at Civic Center Plaza on Sunday to continue the celebration.
