San Francisco has plenty of exciting St. Patrick’s Day traditions (including a historic parade). Last year, SF’s first entertainment zone hosted a free St. Patrick’s Day block party, and the event is returning for 2026.
The Front Street Entertainment Zone is located on Front Street between Sacramento and California Streets, and has regularly hosted free block parties since it became the city’s first entertainment zone. The block will host an exciting St. Patrick’s Day celebration on Tuesday, March 17.
St. Pats on Front Street will start at 2 pm and run until 10 pm, although you can expect the bars to stay open later. The festive party will feature live performances by local musicians, including the band Dirty Cello, known for blues and rock. Careless Whisper, an 80s tribute band, will play classic hits from the decade.

Participating bars on the block include Harrington’s Bar and Grill, Royal Exchange, and Schroeder’s. You can expect specials from the bars during the party, and plenty of Guinness. The block party is in one of SF’s entertainment zones, which means you can enjoy to-go beverages within the block. The party is free to attend, and be sure to bring your ID as the event is 21+.
St. Pats on Front Street is hosted by Harringtons, in collaboration with the Downtown SF Partnership. The Downtown SF Partnership has worked on numerous events for the Front Street Entertainment Zone, including free Friday Block parties in 2025. Aside from the free block party, you can attend the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown on Saturday, March 14, or join a festive bar crawl. Either way, be sure to wear your best green outfit.
