Stern Grove Festival is back for its 84th season!

Who’s ready to see some live music?! Stern Grove Festival, a FREE outdoor concert series featuring a wide variety of genres, is coming to the end of its 2021 season. At 2pm on Tuesday, August 3 you can reserve tickets to see Fitz & The Tantrums, Devon Gilfillian, and DJ Omar. They perform Sunday, August 15.

The festival is running for 10 Sundays this summer, starting June 20 and ending August 29. There will be no concert on Sunday, August 22. We couldn’t be more stoked about the rest of the lineup!

  • August 8: Thundercat, Cassowary, DJ Shortkut (general admission waitlist available)
  • August 15: Fitz & The Tantrums, Devon Gilfillian, DJ Omar (reservations open 2pm August 3)
  • August 29: The Big Picnic featuring Tower of Power, Too $hort, DJ Shortkut (reservations open 2pm August 17)

As always, the concerts will remain free, but attendees must reserve a spot in advance so as to comply with Covid regulations on outdoor venues. Tickets will be issued first-come, first-serve, and capacity requirements will be updated as Covid restrictions change throughout the summer.

All concerts will take place at 2pm on Sundays in the Sigmund Stern Recreation Grove Concert Meadow. The venue has been equipped with extra fencing and infrastructure to maintain capacity limits. They will also be live streaming all concerts.

“The return of live music marks a joyful part of San Francisco’s recovery,” said Mayor Breed in a press release. “For more than 80 years, Stern Grove Festival has been bringing us world class performances in a beautiful public park—free and accessible to all. And while I know the official announcement of the lineup is to come, with what I’m hearing about the first show, I absolutely cannot wait to be there.”

Stern Grove Festival has hosted free summer concerts for over 84 years. Headliners have included everyone from Grammy winners to rising stars, including names like Mitski, The Doobie Brothers, Carlos Santana, Pink Martini, and more.

Sigmund Stern Recreation Grove, known to locals as Stern Grove, is located at 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard in Pine Lake Park.
