This SF Plant Store Lets you Create Your Own Beautiful Arrangements

Choose from an assortment of different succulents, mosses, rocks, and sands at the Planting Bar.

Succulence Life and Garden is an adorable plant store in Bernal Heights where you can actually have an interactive planting experience after you browse their awesome selection. At the Planting Bar, you can create your own unique terrarium, vertical garden, or traditional horizontal planting with help from their staff.

The store has plenty of beautiful planters to get you started. After you’ve chosen the plants you want to include, bring your creation to life with assorted pebbles, rocks, sands, mosses and more. It’s an easy process that can be done with all ages, in a group, or alone. The best part? You can make a huge mess and they’ll clean it up for you!

For horizontal plantings, Succulence charges $10 per hour plus $2 per inch above 4 inches.

For terrariums, vertical gardens and other projects, they charge $60 per hour in 15 minute increments, with a $15 minimum.

Succulence also follows Covid-19 precautions, having installed plexiglass barriers at the Planting Bar and limiting the number of people on each side.


If you don’t have a green thumb, you can still pick up one of their beautiful Moss walls which require zero maintenance. They’re made with 100% organic matter in the form of preserved barks, branches and mosses. The Succulence staff create unique, customized pieces of art for each customer.



If you can’t make it to the store in person, Succulence is currently offer virtual planting classes and workshops via Zoom, including Terrarium workshops, Discover Succulents, Vertical Gardening and Demystifying Houseplants. Their planting kits ship internationally so you can garden from anywhere in the world, and you can even book a virtual shopping appointment with one of the staff members.

Visit Succulence at 402 Cortland Avenue in Bernal Heights, San Francisco. They’re open from 10am to 5:30pm every day, although the Planting Bar closes at 5pm.
