The NFL recently announced the performers for the Super Bowl Tailgate Concert, a pre-game show and party just outside the stadium. Singer-songwriter Teddy Swims, who is known for hit songs like “Losing It” and “The Door,” will headline the tailgate. Plus, Bay Area native LaRussell is set to open for Teddy Swims. LaRussell is based in Vallejo, and is known for songs like “Again,” featuring fellow Bay Area musician E-40, and “I Might Be.”
“Music has taken me places I never imagined, and Super Bowl is definitely one of them,” LaRussell said. “Being part of Super Bowl week in my hometown means the world to me.”
The tailgate will start at 12:50 pm PST and will be live-streamed on Peacock. LaRussell will perform first, representing the Bay Area, followed by Teddy Swims. The pregame is on the Levi’s Stadium Campus, outside the stadium. The tailgate event first debuted as s a virtual show, and has since become a highly-anticipated part of the championship game.
“The Super Bowl is one of those events I grew up watching with my dad and brothers and have always dreamed of being at and performing!” Teddy Swims said. “Coming from a football family – I played and watched my whole life – the Super Bowl was a favorite pastime for me and my family to get around and hang together. It’s an honor to be a part of it and kick off the game!”
The tailgate is just the beginning of the many musical performances scheduled for the day. Bay Area rock band Green Day will perform at the opening ceremony, and then Charlie Puth, Brandi Carlile, and Coco Jones will perform before kick-off. Finally, Bad Bunny is set to perform at the iconic halftime show
The Super Bowl is Sunday, February 8, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. There will be numerous exciting events throughout the weekend in San Francisco.
