Yes, this is that kind of story.
We love a great animal video, especially when it involves a Good Dog. And last week on April 10, Pasadena homeowner DeeDee Mueller managed to get awesome footage of her 2 fearless, tiny rescue terriers chasing a large brown bear out of her home. Watch the whole thing below!
The video shows the enormous, young brown bear taking a drink from the Muellers’ outdoor fountain before appearing in their kitchen to sniff around for snacks. Mei Mei and Squirt heroically charged at the curious intruder, who escaped back the way it had entered.
Mueller revealed in a Facebook post that she was taking a nap in the next room with Mei Mei curled up next to her, when the little terrier suddenly “dashed out and barked like crazy” with second-in-command Squirt right on her heels. Squirt apparently has some trouble getting up the stairs, but had no problem when it came time to defend the territory!
The timid bear was so shocked that it even peed on the steps on the way out. Mueller had no idea the animal had actually entered the house until she checked the security cameras.
“These two don’t know what fear is but I was sweating for them,” she wrote.
Cheers to Mei Mei and Squirt, valiant guard dogs of Pasadena!
