The FIFA World Cup is almost here, and the Bay Area is gearing up to host several exciting matches. Even if attending a game in person at Levi’s Stadium isn’t in your plans, there are still plenty of exciting ways to watch a game. Thrive City, a community space at Chase Center, will host a series of free watch parties and soccer viewings starting this week.
World Cup watch parties at Thrive City

Thrive City is a community space right outside Chase Center that regularly hosts free events. This June, the venue will be the perfect place to watch the World Cup. The games will be screened on the massive plaza board outside Chase Center.
Fans can expect watch parties featuring special entertainment, giveaways, photo opportunities, and more. The first watch party is on June 12, for the United States vs Paraguay game. Before the game, you can head to Crane Cove Park, only a few blocks away, for pre-match festivities, including live music and other activities. The pre-game event will start at 4:30 pm, and the match will start at 6 pm.
The watch parties are scheduled for June 12 and June 18, but you can still look forward to more casual viewings on June 11 through July 2. The soccer viewings will also show games on the big screen and are free to attend, just without the extra entertainment and giveaways. Lawn chairs will be available to fans on a first-come, first-served basis.
While all the watch parties and viewings are free to attend, you can RSVP online in advance to reserve your spot. You can learn more about the Thrive City watch parties and RSVP here.
