Thrive City at SF’s Chase Center is gearing up for one of the most electric sports moments of the year: the World Cup Final this Sunday, July 19th.
The plaza outside Chase Center has regularly drawn capacity crowds for its free World Cup screenings over the past month. With the largest outdoor video screen in the city at 74 feet wide by 42 feet tall, plus a 22-acre community plaza, it’s an epic space to join the excitement.

2026 World Cup Final
After over a month of play and more than 100 matches, the FIFA World Cup 2026 comes to a close with two of the tournament’s strongest teams, Spain and Argentina, going head-to-head at 12 pm on Sunday, July 19th.
If the 2022 final viewership numbers are any indication, an estimated 1.5 billion people could tune in from around the world to watch the game, which is going down at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
At Thrive City, anyone can come watch the final, but space is first-come, first-served. An Eventbrite RSVP page is already sold out, although recent watch party attendees on Reddit and social media have shared that the RSVP is not necessary for admission. Even if you registered your attendance, registration does not guarantee admission, and you can bet that soccer fans will be setting up hours in advance to get a good spot.
