70mm is only available in 19 theaters across the United States, and San Francisco is lucky to be home to one. The AMC Metreon 16 in SF screens movies in IMAX 70 mm, and its tickets for The Odyssey are already on sale. The first screening of the movie on July 16 in 70mm has already sold out, but showtimes are still available for the following days.
We recommend getting your tickets soon, because while the movie won’t come out for another few weeks, coveted showtimes are going fast.
What is 70mm?
Recently, filmmakers and enthusiasts have put a major emphasis on 70mm. The format is twice as large as a standard movie’s, which is 35mm.
