This spring, officials announced that toll prices would rise for the Golden Gate Bridge this summer, and now the change is only a little over a week away. Keep reading for all the details.
2026 toll increase
On Wednesday, July 1, all Golden Gate Bridge tolls will increase by 50 cents. This means that for drivers with a FasTrak account, the rate will increase from $9.75 to $10.25, and Pay-As-You-Go or One-Time Payments will increase from $10.00 to $10.50. The toll invoice rate will go from 10.75 to $11.25, and carpool rates will be $8.25.
The new prices come exactly two years after the last toll increase, which went into effect on July 1, 2024. The 2024 increase was also 50 cents for vehicles. Tolls on the Golden Gate Bridge are only collected when traveling southbound into the city, and if you don’t have a Fas Trak or license plate account, a toll invoice will be generated and mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle.
The Golden Gate Bridge Toll is notably higher than the toll to enter San Francisco via the Bay Bridge, which is $8.50, and only $4.25 for carpools.
