Get your tote bags ready, San Francisco. A new Trader Joe’s is almost here. Trader Joe’s is a beloved grocery store across the country, and a seventh location is coming to SF. The highly anticipated new store will open this Friday in Hayes Valley.
The grocery store, known for its affordable food, has several other locations in San Francisco, including in North Beach, Nob Hill, and Stonestown. The new location is set to open this Friday, May 17. The new location is at 555 Fulton Street and will be open from 9 am until 9 pm. Like other locations, the store will sell beer, wine, and liquor. The Hayes Valley location is very close to Civic Center and Fillmore neighborhoods as well and offers a prime location for commuters along Muni routes.
Trader Joe’s is self-described as a “neighborhood grocery store” that has become a national chain due to its popularity. The stores are known not to carry name-brand items but instead their products, typically at very affordable prices. The grocery chain has always been popular, garnering a cult following due to people’s love for their unique snacks and ready-made meals. It’s safe to say the grocery store has amassed many fans over the years.
The opening comes as a welcome change, as SF has seen many chain businesses close their doors in recent months. Notably, Macy’s announced that over the next few years, numerous locations, including the iconic Union Square location, would close. While some major retailers may be shutting down in SF, others are still expanding, like the massive Ikea that opened in Downtown SF, just a few blocks from the new Trader Joe’s location.
Get ready to buy all the affordable snacks you want, and don’t forget to bring your reusable tote. The new location will open this Friday, May 17, at 55 Fulton Street in Hayes Valley.
