The 2026 list of the top 50 bars in North America was just announced, featuring bars from major cities like New York, Mexico City, Los Angeles, and two San Francisco cocktail bars.
The prestigious list included popular Mission District cocktail bar True Laurel at #14. True Laurel is known for its sophisticated cocktail menu, which often changes daily. You can expect a selection of bar bites ideal for sharing, along with brunch featuring items like cornmeal pancakes and salmon tostada on the menu.
You can reserve a table for dinner or brunch at the cocktail bar, or walk in and try a drink at the bar or on the outdoor patio. You can expect the daily menu to be published around opening time, though you can check sample menus online to get an understanding of their offerings.
Pacific Cocktail Haven (PCH) was also named one of the top 50 bars in North America, ranked #41. PCH is located near Union Square, boasting a detailed menu of craft cocktails, including the bar’s take on classic drinks like a gimlet and Pimm’s Punch.
PCH is no stranger to accolades. Founder and bartender Kevin Diedrich is a nominee for the prestigious James Beard award for Outstanding Cocktail Service, and the bar has frequently topped lists for best bars. Diedrich was also named “Best American Bartender” in 2020, after being nominated multiple times for the title.
The bar’s menu features creative drinks like the OH Snap!, which is made with manzanilla sherry and sugar snap peas. Another standout on the menu is the Miso Old Fashioned, which includes Miso-butter Bacardi 8yr Rum with pommeau and bitters.
