Union Square recently announced a series of free events, including live music, sketching lessons, family-friendly activities, and more. On Friday evenings, the square is taken over by lively dance lessons, followed by open dancing.
The free dancing takes place between 5 and 8 pm on Friday evenings, with rotating styles of free music, including Salsa, Western, Bollywood, swing, and tango. The dancing lessons have been well-attended, and no dancing experience is required for the free lessons.

Some of the other free events at Union Square include crafting workshops on Thursday afternoons and live music during lunchtime on Thursdays. If you’re looking for more opportunities to dance, you can attend the Cardio Dance lessons on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Plus, you can look forward to some free techno shows on June 6 and August 1, hosted by Free Techno SF.
Union Square is surrounded by several popular businesses, including the second Nintendo Store in the United States and a Macy’s.
