This spring, Golden Gate Park’s pop-up garden bar, called The Whale’s Tail, returned for another year, offering outdoor drinks and live music in the scenic park. The bar is seasonal, and this weekend will be its final event of the year. The outdoor bar will have free live music, drinks, and food in a scenic Golden Gate Park meadow.
The Whale’s Tail final weekend

The seasonal pop-up bar ends its run in Golden Gate Park this weekend, featuring a lineup of local performers and great trucks. Attendees can expect four live performances in the scenic meadow, accompanied by a menu of drinks. Plus, you can grab a bite to eat from the food truck Tacos El Cowboy.
The outdoor bar is located in the East Meadow, just off JFK Promenade. The bar offers a variety of drinks, including a selection of wine, beer, and canned cocktails. You can also get a selection of cocktails like margaritas and mimosas, or non-alcoholic options. The Whale’s Tail is open to all ages, and dogs are welcome in the meadow.
The pop-up bar is organized by Illuminate, a local arts nonprofit that is responsible for many public art installations throughout the city, including The Bay Lights. Other free events to look out for in Golden Gate Park this weekend include live concerts at the Bandshell, such as Electric Fields on Saturday, October 10. The free festival will feature a lineup of local musicians, with an after-party at Monarch.
