Yerba Buena Gardens Festival is in full swing, with a packed calendar full of dance classes, free performances, and many more exciting community events. This year, the festival is hosting a special outdoor movie screening of the hit musical Wicked for free.
The screening is scheduled for June 7, 2025, with the festivities starting at 6:00 pm on the Great Lawn in Yerba Buena Gardens. You can expect pre-movie entertainment, including local performers Nia Politan as Galinda and Snaxx as Elphaba.
The screening will start around 8:30 p.m. as the sun starts to set. The event is free and open to the public, and we recommend bringing some blankets to sit on and plenty of layers to cozy up during the movie. Local restaurants will have food and drinks available for purchase during the show.
Yerba Buena Gardens Festival is in its 25th season, having presented thousands of artists throughout the years. The festivities are free and open to the public, with millions of attendees over the years. The festival runs from May through October, so you have plenty of time to check out their events over the next few months. Popular events throughout the years have included free circus performances, concerts, weekly poetry readings, and many more.
