Each year, the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose hosts a special Yuletide version of the Menagerie Oddities Market, and there’s still time to attend!
The merry-macabre marketplace offers a unique selection of wondrous wares, including taxidermy, alternative jewelry, science specimens, occult and ritual items, unique clothing, dark art, and more.

Vendors and activities
Vendors vary at the Menagerie Oddities Market every week, but you can expect to see a fun lineup with everything from sweet treats to clothing and jewelry, courtesy of vintage collectors, artisans, and metaphysical practitioners. The selected vendors specialize in all things eerie, whimsical, and offbeat with a holiday twist.
Browse thousands of wares, including original illustrations and sculptures, gothic home decor, spooky ornaments, classic “oddities” such as ethically sourced bones, pinned insects, and apothecary bottles. There’s usually a strong presence of jewelers and accessory designers selling occult-inspired pieces, from crystal-adorned necklaces to custom corsets.
On Saturday, Dec. 20th, Krampus will make his final appearance at the market from 11am-3pm, and the Lovecraft Carolers will perform from 2:30-5:30pm. On Saturday, Dec. 27th, Scarlet Conte Belly Dancing will perform from 11:30am-4:30pm.
At both events, you can also join tarot sessions or take an open house tour of the Winchester Mystery House from 6-8pm.
