This weekend, one of San Francisco’s oldest bars is celebrating its 126th anniversary with an all-day block party. Bus Stop, a Cow Hollow sports bar, is known for being a bustling spot to watch your favorite game or play a game of pool.
Last year, the bar hosted a major block party on Union Street with live music, a petting zoo, and more. The party was a major success, prompting Bus Stop to host a second iteration this Saturday, May 16.
Bus Stop Anniversary Block Party

On Saturday, one block on Union Street will be closed to car traffic to host the free, outdoor party from 12 to 8 pm. The celebration will feature live music on an outdoor stage with multiple performers and DJs. The free party is also family-friendly, with an adorable petting zoo and face painting.
Of course, you can grab a drink at the bar during the event, at either Bus Stop or the popular speakeasy Left Door above the main bar. Local restaurants Perry’s, The Final Final, and The Italian Homemade will be serving food during the festivities. You can stop by the block party anytime between 12 and 8 pm, and there is no need for a ticket.
About Bus Stop Saloon

Bus Stop is one of San Francisco’s oldest bars, and was opened in 1900. The Cow Hollow bar was originally named “The Alley,” but got its current title in 1919 when it was bought by new owners. Throughout the decades, the bar has remained a popular spot, and it expanded in 2023 by opening a speakeasy on the second floor.
Don’t miss the free block party this Saturday, May 16, from 12 to 8 pm. We recommend taking public transit, as many people are expected to attend the event, and Union Street is typically busy during the weekend.
