This week, several blocks on Valencia Street will be closed to car traffic and filled with live music, local businesses, and fun activations as part of an exciting street festival. The event, called Valencia LIVE!, is a free block party in the Mission District returning for 2026 on Thursday, May 14, from 5 to 10 pm. In 2025, the monthly block parties drew an impressive 45,000 people to Valencia Street. The street festivals will run from May through October in 2026, and here’s what to know for the upcoming event.
Valencia LIVE! May 2026
This Thursday, the first free block party will take place on Valencia Street between 16th and 19th. This year, the block party is a little different; it will move along Valencia Street throughout the year. ending at 18th and 21st for the last street festivals in September and October. This way, you can explore different parts of the street and check out the many shops, restaurants, and bars throughout.
You can expect live music curated by Carnival SF every month. Plus, look out for DJ performances, a community clothing swap, and even salsa lessons.
Partygoers can also expect plenty of shopping opportunities, including the Drawing Room Annex’s Maker Markets, featuring 20 artists during the block party. Plus, you can explore local vendors selling vintage items, clothing, home items, and more.
Valencia Street is also one of San Francisco’s entertainment zones, which means attendees 21 and over can take to-go drinks from participating businesses within the street festival.
“Valencia Street has always been independent, creative, and diverse—that’s what makes it special. Valencia LIVE! builds on that spirit while bringing the foot traffic our small businesses need to thrive,” said Ron Elder, President of the Valencia Corridor Merchants Association.
