We all saw it.
The single video that made us forget how depressing 2020 has been, even if just for a moment. In the video, the Tik Tok user is cruising down the street on his longboard to 1977 anthem Dreams by Fleetwood Mac, with a family-sized Oceanspray Cran-Raspberry juice. He takes a big gulp and then promptly lip-syncs to the lyrics sung by the iconic Stevie Nicks. [Featured image: Instagram/@KeeneVisions]
A simple video with a major vibe, and just the right amount of random to put a smile on all our faces. The man behind the video, Nathan Apodaca, already had quite the following, but this particular one blew up..and fast. In a mere 7 hours it already had 2.3 million views, and it has since been replicated several times over, even by Mick Fleetwood himself!
In fact, the video went so viral that it shot Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 classic back up to top charts, 43 years after its release, putting it at number 14 on Spotify’s U.S. Top 50 chart.
Not that any of us would forget the much needed lightheartedness from 420doggface208’s clip in a year such as this, but the famous Tik Tok video has now been immortalized on the boarded-up windows of a CVS in Lower Haight. Muralist (and musician) KeeneVisions, obviously a fan, recently painted an awesome tribute mural, aptly dubbing him ‘2020’s knight in shining armor’ in an Instagram post showcasing the finished piece.
If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to check it out! The mural can be found at the corner of Haight and Fillmore streets.
