San Francisco has been undeniably filled with music these past few months, with major stars headlining unique shows, and numerous free concerts drawing thousands. Now, we have yet another exciting free show to look forward to this weekend, this time in Union Square.
Café du Nord, SF Live, and Union Square Alliance are presenting an EDM show featuring GoldFish, Bag Raiders, and Mykki Blanco. The free show is part of SF Live, a program that brings free concerts to San Francisco. , San Francisco Parks Alliance, Noise Pop, and Union Square Alliance, along with longtime concert venue Cafe du Nord, are all involved in the show.
The concert starts at 2:00 and ends at 6:00 pm on Saturday September 21, and all ages are welcome to attend. You can still RSVP for the show online.
Headlined by EDM duo GoldFish, the concert is expected to be a major dance party right in downtown. GoldFish first gained attention by combining dance-ready house beats with live instruments. The duo spent years performing in Cap Town or Ibiza before coming to San Diego. Opener Bag Raiders are an Australian EDM group that have released plenty of dance hits through out the years. Mykki Blanco is another opener known for incredible performance art and has frequently collaborated with major stars in the music industry.
The show is the latest installation in numerous free concerts, and it closely follows a free rock concert in Civic Center Plaza this Friday. SF Live has more free shows on the calendar, including a show at Leather Pride Fest and another Union Square concert featuring Babe Rainbow & LA LOM in October. SF Live is a joint venture between art nonprofit Illuminate, San Francisco Parks Alliance, legendary music promoter Noise Pop, and Union Square Alliance to bring six months of major free concerts to SF.
