On Saturday, June 6, 2026, San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf neighborhood will host “Play on the Bay,” a free public event along Jefferson Street celebrating the area’s newly designated Entertainment Zone.
The gathering will take place along Jefferson Street between Al Scoma Way and Hyde Street from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., featuring local artists and performers.
Attendees can observe live mural painting by San Francisco artist Ricardo Richey (Apexer), and turf dance performances by Oakland-based group TURFinc.
Additionally, the event will include a dedicated Kids Zone, giveaways, and sensory play experiences organized by Oogubi. Local businesses along the waterfront will provide food and beverage options throughout the event — you can get more details here.
Revitalizing Fisherman’s Wharf
Play on the Bay is part of Fisherman’s Wharf Forward, an investment project working to reinvigorate the neighborhood by creating a new public plaza, new lighting, and community events and experiences.
“Fisherman’s Wharf is one of San Francisco’s most iconic destinations, and Play on the Bay is an opportunity to showcase this area to residents and visitors alike,” said Mayor Lurie.
“The new Fisherman’s Wharf entertainment zone is an important step in bringing new energy to our waterfront while supporting the businesses, artists, and communities that make this neighborhood so special. I’m excited for Play on the Bay and the many events this entertainment zone will bring to San Francisco.”
The new Fisherman’s Wharf Entertainment Zone joins over a dozen other Entertainment Zones around the city, including Front Street, Pier 39, and Valencia Street.
