There’s nothing quite like twinkling lights to put you in a jolly mood!
The Bay Area has some incredible spots to soak in the cheery warmth of the season. From drive-thrus and neighborhood lights to parks and beautiful gardens, there’s something to suit everyone’s style!
Check out these 10 spots in the Bay Area to enjoy that seasonal glow of holiday lights:
1. Holidays in the Park Drive-Thru Experience
This mesmerizing nighttime drive-through experience at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom features millions of twinkling lights synchronized to the cheerful holiday music. Drive through the different dazzling zones throughout the 135-acre theme park for a magical ride complete with snacks and souvenirs! The fun runs through the end of January.
2. Holidays at Filoli
Visit these gorgeous gardens during the day or the evening. Guests can explore the large estate boasting 16 acres of formal gardens, exquisitely manicured and embellished with twinkling lights and colorful wreaths. There are even fire pits where you can cozy up next to loved ones as you take in the breathtaking views! This holiday tradition is open through January 3, 2021.
3. Entwined
Visit Golden Gate Park’s Peacock Meadow for an adventure through an acre of paths of entwined trees, bushes and canopies all made of colorful pixel-like LED lights. It’s an extraordinary life-sized representation of nature, with trees ranging from 12 to 20 feet tall and illuminated canopies standing as tall as 30 feet. Even the Tree Twins paid the park a visit! The installation will be open at least through the end of February.

Bay Area neighborhoods are dripping with festive lights this time of year, and many of them give ‘go big or go home’ a whole new meaning. Check out these 5 over-the-top displays that are definite must-sees before the season ends! Most displays will be lit through the end of December.
9. Garden of d’Lights
Each holiday season, Ruth Bancroft Garden & Nursery is transformed into a dreamy whimsical wonderland, illuminated with thousands of sparkling lights and neon lasers. And this year’s event is even bigger than the last! The event was also just extended so that visitors can see the holiday lights through January 17, 2021.
10. The inverted holiday tree at Westfield SF Centre
Head to Level 4 Under The Dome to see the shopping center’s famous annual holiday tree. It’s a gorgeous 50-foot tree twinkling with countless white lights and made with lots of crystals. It never disappoints – not to mention, it’s upside down! The tree will be on display until December 31.
