Summer is almost here, which means it’s the perfect time for day trips to enjoy the sun. Just an hour and 30 minutes from San Francisco sits a charming, nostalgic resort and pool club that is perfect for a weekend escape or just a day trip.
River Electric

River Electric is nestled among the trees, with luxurious tents dotted throughout. The resort includes two beautiful, modern pools complete with lounge chairs and a manicured lawn, perfect for a swim to escape the heat.
If you just want to visit for a quick swim, the property boasts two pools, a large central one, and a smaller “dipper pool” that is adults only. Day passes to use the property start at $35, allowing guests to enjoy the pools, grab a drink at the bar, and enjoy the sun. You can also reserve a lounge chair or cabana for a more upscale experience.

If you want to turn your pool day into a weekend-long escape, you can stay in one of the tents, equipped with comfortable beds and decor. The property includes 46 furnished tents, with double or king beds available.
While the resort feels like a secluded escape in nature, it’s actually just one block from Downtown Guerneville, a charming river town with numerous bars, restaurants, and art galleries. The scenic town has even been named one of California’s most charming river towns by WorldAtlas (and we have to agree). Guerneville sits on the Russian River, perfect for swimming or floating to enjoy the weather.
River Electric just opened last year, and the resort officially reopened its doors for the summer season on May 1. The resort is seasonal and will only be open until October 31.
