Ever since the exhibition announcement nearly a year ago, K-pop fans and museumgoers alike have counted down the days for the debut of RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me.
RM, the leader of K-pop group BTS, has collaborated with SFMOMA to create an exclusive showcase featuring nearly 200 pieces from his own personal art collection. The display will open next Saturday, October 3, 2026, welcoming guests through February 7, 2027.
RM worked with SFMOMA’s América Castillo and Hyoeun Kim to curate the exhibition, which presents modern and contemporary pieces by Korean and international artists. The selection from RM’s collection is presented in conversation with additional pieces from SFMOMA’s own holdings, narrated with a special audio guide by RM himself.
Tickets first went on sale this past August, and some weekend slots are already sold out, but you can still get tickets to see the exhibition in its first month. RM x SFMOMA requires a special exhibition timed ticket, which also includes general admission to the museum.
“We live in an age defined by boundaries,” said RM in a press release.
“This exhibition at SFMOMA reflects those boundaries: between East and West, Korea and America, the modern and the contemporary, the personal and the universal. I don’t want to prescribe how these works should be seen; whether out of curiosity or study, all perspectives are welcome. My only hope is that this exhibition can be a small but sturdy bridge for many.”
