The Fairmont in San Francisco has always enthusiastically joined holiday festivities in the city. The historic hotel is well known for the massive gingerbread house in the lobby every holiday season. Now, the hotel has added a winter market to its list of holiday programming. The Winter Faire debuted last weekend of November and returns for its second weekend, a charming winter market, on December 19 through 21.

The first market in November took place on the hotel’s scenic rooftop gardens, but this weekend’s faire will be held in the Venetian Room, a large, beautiful space often used to host events.
You can expect numerous local artisans and creators each day. You can expect jewelry, home decor, tea, leather goods, and more at the market. Along with the vendors, you can expect lights and live music during the event. The market is inspired by the open-air Christmas markets that are popular in Europe, and it is a wonderful opportunity to shop at local, small businesses this holiday season.
While you’re at the hotel, we recommend heading to the lobby to see the impressive 2-story gingerbread house, made from real candy and frosting. The holiday creation is a beloved tradition for San Franciscans and is free to view. You can even reserve dinner or holiday tea inside the massive gingerbread house. Plus, the rest of the lobby is decked out with holiday decorations, including a massive Christmas tree.
The winter market at the Fairmont will run from 12 pm to 5 pm each day this weekend. Vendors vary by day, and you can find the complete list of participants here.
