Every year, San Francisco celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with a lively parade through downtown. The historic parade is celebrating a major milestone this year: its 175th anniversary!
2026 St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The annual San Francisco St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place this weekend, on Saturday, March 14, followed by a celebratory festival. The parade will start at 11:30 am on 2nd & Market and will travel through downtown on Market Street before ending at Civic Center Plaza. The lineup for the parade includes almost 100 groups, with Irish dancers, a marching band, a rugby team, and more.
The parade is free and family-friendly, and we recommend taking public transit as it may be difficult to find parking. Road closures due to the parade will result in some Muni reroutes and possible delays on Saturday as well.

Civic Center celebration, Youth Sports Day, and more celebrations
After the parade, you can join a celebration at Civic Center, which features live Irish music, Irish dancing, and community booths. You can also expect various cultural performances and local vendors selling food and other goods. The celebration will take place on Grove and Polk streets near City Hall, from 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday. The parade and festivities are all free to attend and family-friendly.
The St Patrick’s celebrations also include a Youth Sports Day at Civic Center Plaza, which features local youth organizations playing hurling, Irish football, camogie, rugby, and more.
The parade and festival are just one of many St. Patrick’s Day events happening in San Francisco. Check out the free block party on Front Street on March 17th, complete with live music and drinks. You can also attend a bar crawl or one of the events hosted by the United Irish Cultural Center. Find a full list of St. Patrick’s Day events here.
