Stern Grove Festival is a beloved series of free shows that takes over a beautiful San Francisco park. The series runs throughout the summer, and the first show is this month. While the online lottery is already closed for the first four shows, there’s still a way to get tickets.

Stern Grove Festival kicks off on Sunday, June 14 featuring Peter Cat Recording Co. Tickets for the free concerts open up through an online lottery 6 weeks in advance, so the online lottery is currently closed. Luckily, there’s still ways for you to attend the show.
You can score free tickets to the June 14 show through the community box office, which opens tomorrow, June 6, at 12 pm in Union Square. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and you can get up to two. The box office will have 1,500 free tickets available for each show.
If you can’t make it to the box office this weekend, you can also purchase a community table seat. Stern Grove Festival offers paid tables for eager attendees to help fund the program. Another way to see the show, without having to spend money, is by becoming a volunteer for the festival.
The online lottery is closed for the shows through July 5, and tables have already sold out for Bomba Estéreo and Major Lazer.
Stern Grove Lineup
The festival starts June 14, and free concerts will take place every Sunday until August 16. The lineup features a range of artists, including Al Green, Patti LaBelle, Major Lazer, Suki Waterhouse, and more. The free shows are extremely popular, with shows always well attended. Organizers recently changed their ticketing system to give people more chances to secure a ticket due to the high demand.
