Fort Mason is well known for hosting many arts and culture events and exhibitions. Later this month, a massive art fair will be held at the Gateway Pavilion. The Superfine Art Fair will take over the Pavilion from March 6 to 9, 2025. The vibrant event will showcase 150 creators, including local, national, and international artists. It’s a chance for young art lovers to browse hundreds of works in a grand gallery space and purchase original pieces for a steal.
Fort Mason Center’s Gateway Pavilion will be filled with 150 hand-picked artists presenting multimedia experiences and dynamic live art, among other things. You can explore over 3,000 original pieces and see up-and-coming artists showcasing their creations. The fair is suited for young art lovers and people just starting to grow their collections. Superfine is known to prioritize inclusivity for both creators and guests. As such, Superfine has grown to be the #1 platform for independent artists and now hosts the fair at 12 locations across the U.S.
Artworks on sale typically range in price from $100-3,000, and 100% of art sales go right back to the artist from whom you purchase them. Superfine takes zero commission from purchased works, and the prices are more affordable than those at conventional art fairs.
The fair will also include plenty of exciting events, such as an Art Battle on Friday, March 7. 12 artists will compete from 7-10 pm, and the audience gets to decide who the lucky winner is. Plus, you can take a curator tour of the fair, attend a talk on art collecting, and listen to a panel on supporting queer art. You can find the full list of Superfine events happening at this
weekend here.
The four-day fair kicks off on Thursday, March 6, and runs through the weekend. Tickets are known to go fast, so we recommend buying them now. A one-day general admission ticket starts at $22, but you can also purchase early access and VIP for $78.
About Superfine Art Fair
The fair was founded by Alex Mitow and James Miille, and it is based out of New York City. The co-founders bring a diverse range of experience to the now massive fair, but most importantly, they both share a love for art. Miille is a photographer himself, and his work has been exhibited in major cities across the United States and featured in Architectural Digest. Mitow is an avid collector and has a background in film, marketing, writing, and more.
“You’ll find the most cutting-edge emerging visual artists at Superfine, ready and excited to talk to you about their art and price points friendly to collectors at every stage,” writes Mitow and Miille on their website. “Whether you’ve got a museum with your name on it or never bought a piece of original art in your life, you’ll find something at Superfine to take home and cherish for years to come.”
