Thrive City’s 2023 Winter Wonderland is almost here! It all begins Nov. 29, 2023 with a lighting ceremony for the largest holiday tree in the Bay Area, which stands at a whopping 90 feet tall.
Other attractions include a North Pole mailbox to send letters to Santa, nightly “snowfall,” a brand-new synthetic ice rink, and a series of special events on select days in December. Read on for a summary of what to put on your calendar, and be sure to RSVP to claim your free spot ahead of time for each event.
Nov. 29: Lighting Ceremony
A two-hour showcase from 5-7pm with special performances, food, and festivities leading up to the highly-anticipated holiday tree lighting. Darryl McDaniels, original member and founder of RUN DMC, will perform. Free with RSVP.
Dec. 7: Hanukkah celebration
From 4-7pm, celebrate the Festival of Lights with a menorah lighting ceremony, live entertainment, festive arts and crafts, and Jewish treats. Free with RSVP.
Dec. 9-26: Free ice skating
The free ice rink will only be open on select dates between Dec. 9-26, 2023, so you’ll need to RSVP and get there early for a chance to hit the ice. Skate sessions are limited to 20-30 minutes per person and complimentary skate rentals will be available. Certain dates have a lively DJ Skate Party planned in the afternoon.
