1. The Guardsmen Holiday Tree Lot
The Guardsmen is an entirely volunteer-run non-profit organization that dates back to 1947, with the purpose of raising funds for at-risk Bay Area youth. In addition to selling trees, garlands, wreaths, and ornaments, they also host craft beer and comedy nights, a crab and pasta dinner, and a giant holiday party with live music. Without fail, they always make tree buying a whole lot of fun.

2. Clancy’s Christmas Trees
Clancy’s has been selling pumpkins and Christmas trees in San Francisco since 1949 and has operated as a family business for three generations. They work exclusively with small family farms and harvest from their own farm in Oregon. Clancy’s has locations in both the Inner and Outer Sunset and also offers delivery options.

3. Delancey Street Trees
If you’re going to get a tree this season, it’s nice to support a great cause in the process. Delancey Street is the country’s leading residential self-help organization for former substance abusers, ex-convicts, the homeless, and others who have hit bottom. Starting in 1971, Delancey Street has used Christmas tree sales as a fundraiser and an important training ground for folks who are trying to get back on their feet and learn important social and interpersonal skills. Among their tree lots in SF, they also sell trees at the Great Dickens Christmas Fair, with no ticket required to shop for a tree.

5. Sloat Garden Center
Sloat Garden Center is one of SF’s most dependable nurseries, operating over a dozen locations around the Bay Area. Most locations sell a robust selection of Christmas trees, as well as fresh garland, fragrant wreaths, and poinsettias. They always store the trees in water stands and give them a fresh cut before you take them home, so you can bet on them lasting all season long.

6. Marina Christmas Trees
For over 30 years, this adorable Christmas tree lot at San Francisco’s Marina Middle School has raised money for the school and community. They source freshly-cut trees from Oregon and Washington, which you can buy daily between 9am-8pm. Sizes range from 3 feet to 16 feet, and you’ll find a variety of fir tree varieties available as well as garland, wreaths, mistletoe, and poinsettias.

7. Flora Grubb Gardens

10. Santa’s Tree Farm
Here’s another cut-your-own Christmas tree farm offering a lovely holiday experience 50 years running. Explore 487 acres of Christmas trees available to cut yourself, or choose a pre-cut tree in the barn. In addition to the stunning views, you’ll also find a train, gift shop, and even Santa himself taking gift requests on-site.

11. Rent a Living Christmas Tree
This local tree rental organization offers a more environmentally friendly option for your Christmas tree this year. Simply choose the tree you like online, select a delivery and pickup date, and wait for your tree to arrive at your door. All trees are potted, hand-trimmed, and fertilized in their forest near Carmel. Just make sure your address is within the delivery zone, which includes most of the South San Francisco Bay Area and Monterey Bay Area.
