This weekend, the popular Inner Sunset Flea Market is returning for its second event of 2026. The popular flea market closes two blocks on Irving Street to car traffic to create a community gathering space, perfect for exploring the neighborhood and finding a second-hand treasure.
The market takes place on Irving between 9th and 11th on Sunday, May 10, gathering local vendors, community organizations, artists, and more. The market will also include live music and family-friendly activities, and this month’s theme is dedicated to Mother’s Day. You can explore the flea market between 10 am and 4 pm on Sunday, and it is easily accessible by public transportation.
The flea market started in April and will continue until November 2026 on the second Sunday of every month. Check out the full schedule here:
- May 10– “Mother’s Day”
- June 14 – “Celebrating Pride”
- July 12 – “Garden Party”
- August 9– “Dog Days of Summer”
- September 13 – “A Taste of Comedy Day”
- October 11 – “Tricks, Treats, & Treasures”
- November 8 – “The Big Lunch & Annual Pie Contest”
The area is a popular commercial corridor in the Sunset, packed with many shops, restaurants, and bars. We recommend grabbing a pastry and coffee at Tartine before exploring the market or looking for your latest read at Green Apple Books.
The flea market is organized by Sunset Mercantile, which hosts numerous events in the Sunset District and other neighborhoods around the city. Other events include the popular Sunset Night Market, which is known to draw thousands, and Cole Valley Nights, which transform the neighborhood with live music and local vendors on Thursday nights.
