Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival is officially here, from August 8 to 10, in Golden Gate Park. The highly anticipated festival is one of the biggest events every summer for San Franciscans, drawing thousands to the park to see major artists like Tyler, The Creator, Doja Cat, John Summit, and many more.
The festival offers more than just music; it also offers various local food vendors, beer, wine, marijuana gardens, and even weddings. Keep reading for a guide to this year’s festival, including the map, schedule, transportation, and more.
Outside Lands 2025 Festival Map

The festival takes place in Golden Gate Park, which spans multiple areas. The Polo Field features the Lands End stage and Dolores area, while Mark Meadow has the SoMa stage, and Hellman Hollow includes the Panhandle Stage and Twin Peaks stage. McLaren Pass has Wine Lands, Flower Lands, Sober Lands, and more.
Public transit and road closures
The festival draws large crowds to Golden Gate Park, so you can expect some traffic and changes to Muni over the weekend in areas around the festival grounds. To accommodate the influx of people, Muni will provide extra services on the N Judah, 5R Fulton Rapid, and 5X Fulton Express services from Golden Gate Park to Civic Center BART Station. Extra buses along the route will have signs with their specific destination, and will not serve the entire route. Street closures will be minimal; only JFK Drive from Transverse to 36th Avenue will be closed starting Monday, August 4.
The festival has specific areas designated for pick up and drop off if you plan on taking a ride-hail or a taxi. There will also be blackout areas where you will be unable to get picked up, so we recommend checking out the designated locations before you plan on leaving the festival. You can find more information about transit changes and updates on the SFMTA website.

What to expect at Outside Lands music festival
Outside Lands is known for its food, with numerous local food vendors attending yearly. You can expect octopus hotdogs from Caché, Chicken Tikki Masala Burgers from Curry Up Now, tasty burritos from Senior Sisig, and many more. You can also expect local coffee shops, desserts like Johnny’s Donuts, and classic churros. If you want to try local wine from Napa Valley, we recommend checking out Wine Lands in between shows. If you’re more of a beer drinker, they also have Beer Lands, selling craft brews with opportunities to meet the brewers. Check out the full list of food vendors here.
The festival will also host live painting from street artists throughout the weekend. We also recommend you stop by Dolores’, a dance club in the festival that celebrates queer and trans communities. The stage will have tons of dance parties with DJs like Chase Icon, Fcuckers, and Rebecca Black. The festival has also recently added small wedding ceremonies, called City Hall, so you might see some newlyweds around the festival grounds. Plus, local retailer GAP is having a pop-up at the festival, where you can customize one of their classic sweatshirts with SF and Outside Lands patches and paint markers.
Weather Forecast
While SF can be notoriously cold in August, the forecast for this weekend is sunny and warm. The highs are in the low 70s Friday through Sunday, with skies sunny or mostly sunny. While the warm weather is very welcome, we still recommend bringing layers to the festival. Golden Gate Park is known to get foggy, and temperatures will drop at night. The lows for each night will be in the high 50s.
Bag policy
You can bring a small bag, such as a purse or fanny pack, up to 6 x 8 x 3 inches, or a clear bag, such as a backpack. Empty hydration packs will be allowed. You can also rent a locker during the festival to store extra items. SF is often chilly during August, so we recommend bringing layers, even if the forecast looks warm.
