Fleet Week is one of fall’s most anticipated events in San Francisco, and it’s almost here. This year, the government shutdown has caused uncertainty for the yearly event, but you can still expect plenty of festivities over the weekend.
Friday through Sunday, the Fleet Week Airshow has been confirmed despite the government shutdown, and it will look a little different this year with the Canadian Snowbirds scheduled instead of the Blue Angels.
Is Fleet Week still happening with the government shutdown?
The short answer is yes, SF’s Fleet Week is still on. Due to the shutdown, military ships and planes will be grounded, so some of the festivities will be different from past years. Luckily, the most well-known event of the weekend, the airshow, will go on with the Canadian Snowbirds. For the ship tours, Canadian and Colombian ships will participate.
Will the Blue Angels be in the air show?
Unfortunately, this year’s air show will not include the Blue Angels due to the government shut down. Despite the shutdown, you can still expect three airshows throughout the weekend, weather permitting.
What Fleet Week events have been canceled?
The Honor Our Fallen concert and the Parade of Ships have been canceled due to the government shutdown this year. In past year’s the Parade of Ships was one of the first events of the weekend, taking place on Friday morning.
Fleet Week 2025 Air Show schedule

The air show is scheduled for three days: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If the weather is unsuitable for flying, the airshow could be delayed or canceled, so be sure to check the forecast before heading out to see the show. The airshow is the only one in the United States with a commercial plane, the United 777, included in the choreography. San Franciscans can expect to see the Canadian Snowbirds and a group of civilian pilots perform at the show, as U.S. Military planes and ships are grounded due to the government shutdown. Showtimes and schedules are subject to change, but you can see the current schedule below:
- Friday, October 10: 12:15 to 2:48 pm
- Saturday, October 11: 12:15 to 2:48 pm
- Sunday, October 12: 12:15 to 2:48 pm
Air Show viewing spots
You can see the airshow throughout the city, but for the best views, we recommend heading to either the waterfront or a deck or terrace with a view of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. Some popular viewing spots include Crissy Field, Marina Green, Twin Peaks, and Aquatic Park. Another viewing option is cruises on the water, which offer a unique view of the show.
