We’re lucky to experience some highly-anticipated Bay Area concerts this month, from P!NK and Doja Cat at Chase Center to Wilco at the Greek Theater. 1. Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
This large indoor concert venue in SF’s Civic Center is a World’s Fair relic hosting some of SF’s largest indoor concerts courtesy of Another Planet Entertainment.

2. SFJAZZ
SFJAZZ has presented the best names in jazz, Latin, and global music since 1983. As the largest jazz presenter on the west coast, SFJAZZ serves over 200,000 fans annually.

3. Chase Center
The Warriors’ home territory often hosts big-name concerts in this state-of-the-art arena on SF’s eastern waterfront. It’s worth seeing what’s going on at Thrive City to make the most of your day there.

4. War Memorial Opera House
SF Opera and other opera presenters put on exciting performances out of the War Memorial Opera House, which was built during the Great Depression as a memorial for San Franciscans who served in WWI.

5. Candlelight Concerts
Did you know that the beautiful church on University of San Francisco’s campus hosts breathtaking classical concerts by candlelight? The impressive church building which started as a basic wooden structure has been through a lot throughout its history. It saw the San Francisco earthquake and fire during the outbreak of the First World War and continues to stand as a civic landmark for the Jesuits in San Francisco.
Candlelight Concerts are also taking place at SF’s International Art Museum of America, the Great Star Theater in Chinatown, and the Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland. See the full lineup of concerts here.
6. Great American Music Hall
This beautiful concert hall dating back to 1907 is decked out in ornate decorative balconies, columns, and frescoes for a one-of-a-kind concert experience in SF.

7. The Fillmore
The Fillmore dates back to 1912 and hosted huge acts from the psychedelic counterculture movement in the 1960s. It’s run by entertainment company Live Nation.

8. The Warfield
This historic music venue opened in 1922 and is operated by Goldenvoice, which also operates Stagecoach and Coachella. The 2,250-person venue is named after SF silent film actor David Warfield.

9. Oracle Park
Oracle Park is located on the eastern waterfront of San Francisco in the SoMa neighborhood. It’s a beautiful waterside park with views of the SF Bay and is home to the SF Giants baseball team, but also puts on exciting concerts.

10. Golden Gate Park Bandshell
The 2023 season of Illuminate Live runs through mid-November at the Golden Gate Park Bandshell. Catch over 100 performances in a variety of genres including R&B, soul, jazz, funk, big band, strings, indie, rock, reggae, salsa, electronic, and EDM. Stay tuned as we await the lineup for October and November.

11. The Independent
The Independent is a no-frills venue in Alamo Square with a special emphasis on sustainability through cutting-edge and energy-saving equipment. Huge bands including Green Day and Arctic Monkeys have performed at the intimate 500-capacity club.

12. SF Masonic

13. The Regency Ballroom

14. Oakland Arena
The Oakland Arena is located adjacent to the famous Oakland Coliseum, home to the A’s major league baseball team. The Arena became a premier concert venue after a $100M renovation in 1996 and continues to host some of the biggest Bay Area concerts.

15. Fox Theater
Another Planet Entertainment operates the historic Fox Theater in Oakland. The theater was built in 1929 and underwent a $75 million renovation in 2009, fostering a state-of-the-art concert experience ever since.

16. The New Parish
The New Parish is an independent music venue just a block away from the Fox Theater. It’s a more intimate setting with an outdoor patio and a diverse world music lineup.

17. The Greek Theatre
The William Randolph Hearst Greek Theatre is an 8,500-seat open-air amphitheater run by UC Berkeley. It was built in 1903 as part of architect John Galen Howard’s design for the whole university campus, with help from Julia Morgan.

18. Cornerstone
Cornerstone is a craft beer hall, restaurant, and music venue in Berkeley with an eclectic lineup of music acts. Come for dinner, stay for a show.

19. UC Theatre
The UC Theatre Taube Family Music Hall is a converted movie theater run by the Berkeley Music Group right near UC Berkeley. The 1,400-capacity venue is a nonprofit dedicated to removing barriers for young people in the music business.

South Bay/Peninsula concert venues
20. Levi’s Stadium
Levi’s Stadium is home to the San Francisco 49ers football team and hosts some of the biggest concert tours traveling to the Bay Area. It seats nearly 70,000 people and was recently announced as the 2026 venue or Super Bowl 60 and FIFA World Cup matches.
21. San Jose Civic
This converted arena is owned by the City of San Jose as a venue hosting everything from concerts to comedy tours and plays. The auditorium seats about 3,000 and underwent a $25M renovation to upgrade its sound systems in 2009.

22. SAP Center (Shark Tank)
The SAP Center, locally known as the Shark Tank, is where the NHL San Jose Sharks play from October-April. They also host large concerts, traveling tours, and events. Note that there are no concerts on the calendar for July but there are some other events.

23. Mountain Winery
The Mountain Winery is a historic property in Saratoga with impressive views of the vineyards and surrounding valley. Its 2,500-seat outdoor amphitheater is an underrated and memorable place to experience an intimate open-air concert.
