Free Bandshell concerts
The blues festival is a special event, but you can find live music at the Golden Gate Park bandshell on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays until the fall. Wednesdays are Midweek Melodies featuring local singer-songwriters, and Friday happy hour performances are the perfect way to start your weekend. Finally, Sundays typically feature reggae music. You can find the full schedule for the free shows here.
Illuminate LIVE
The free festival is part of Illuminate LIVE, which is a series of free events hosted by San Francisco arts nonprofit Illuminate. Illuminate is responsible for numerous public art activations and events throughout the city. The non-profit is responsible for The Bay Lights, an iconic installation that recently returned to SF, as well as massive laser shows throughout the year, particularly during Pride.
You can find the Bandshell at 75 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive in SF’s Golden Gate Park Music Concourse. There is an underground parking garage at the music concourse, and the bandshell is easily accessible via public transit.
